Today on 27th Feb2011 we started our Project Udaan .. project to Give education to scrap pickers of a slum in Saharanpur, UP. Today was the first day and this was full of challenges. How difficult it was today i realised this. When children came and after fifteen mins they started crying or want to go. They said that they want to go toilet, need water and said this again and again. some are talking and some didnt want to listen anything. Only when we start prayer "E MALIK TERE BANDEY HUM " they sat peacefully. Today we just talked them. some children sang poems and some told that what they can do efficietly. One child told " में तो कबाडा उठाउ और मौज करु, बढ़िया कपडे पहनू और मौज करू " When we asked his fathers name two three times he said " अजी बाप का नाम पूछो क्या ", after every five mins three four children start saying that they want to go toilet " अजी मूतन जारा " some children are very naughty and making funny faces all the time. some were very dirty. Today we teach them to say namestey to everyone and how they will keep their shoes and chappels on the roof. At the time of prayer we told them if they request anything from god, god will give them so they sing prayer peacefully. after class we distribute tofees.
We are very thankful to Sh Ashok Kumar Pradhan. who spent thousands for making a place to start this class. Only his efforts making this dream come true. We are thankful to Touchlife for giving us initial guidence to teach the slum children. we are thankful To Sh sanjay nagpal and Dr poonam nagpal to give us courage to start this project. We are thankful to Sh jai kumar sharma and smt Pramila sharma for helping in teaching the kids.
Sh Ashok kumar spent thousands for tin shade and boundarywall and today one person came to mean and inquired that we spent how much money on this boundary wall and tin shade. Now no one want to beleive that there are few persons who are doing manything without any interest or gain
Ashray foundation promise us for many other help for this project. And they also assure us if we start any other class in any place in saharanpur or anywhere they will help us. Lets change the world.. students are increasing third day 67 were present
These children are just like aliens who looks like human and can speak like us. They dont know anything. what sonia from touch one life described is completely true. They dont know anything. When i asked about the shape of earth, when i asked can they make glider from paper or do they know about musical chair game. Today i did lot of masti with these kids and they were very happy. We play musical chair with them and make glider with paper. Those children who won in musical chair will get prizes tomorrow. today there were only 54 children
discussion with Sonia today regarding the working of project UDAAN.
1. First of all she stressed on making the education for the childrens a full of fun. Since we cannot follow the conventional method of studies for these childrens we need to mould up the method and pay more attention on the interest building of children for first 6 months of our working.
2. We should also take care of the Repo building of our organization within these childrens. For this we need to do some kind of activities which they can admire upon and can talk for it. Normally these kind of childrens do not talk much with each other and even with their parents. We can do the activity for eg. Poster making, so that they can carry that poster to their home and parents and other children can see that. This will be a great inspiration for all of them. This will be a tangible example of our working in fornt of them and that will be a great source of inspiration for them.
3. We can do the activity that we can click the photo of those childrens and take a print out of it and paste that on the enrollment form designed by us for those childrens. We can give that form to them to carry to their home. This will also a great motivation factor of them because having a form with their own photograph will be a great for them. I feel hardly anybody of these children have seen their own photograph.
4. We need to make the place of study more colourful and attractive for this we can texture some plants and fruits on the walls and we can use some posters also. Also we need to take care for the cleanliness of that place. Since these childrens live in very dirty enviornment cleanliness will attract them a lot.
5. Most important of all She suggested that for the first 6 months we need not to worry about the education of children. We need to make the learning a fun for them for this we can organize some games for eg. we can show them some movies on laptop, we can teach some meditation or yoga to them, since most of these childrens are scrap pickers so we can tell them to bring one thing from the scrap and we need to identify for creating some useful things from that item using some initial skills of SUPW... :), Also we can organize some drawing competition just to make them familier with the pen, pencil and the wonderful world of colours and there lot more we can do which we need to innovate and apply.
6. She suggested to seek the help of some play school teachers in this activity. We can visit 10-15 play schools and if we get 7 volunteer teachers from there then each person have to spend only 2 hours in week and we can get some professional help in our task.
7. We need not to call our education center as school as this is word that childrens and their poor parents hates a bit. We need to call it a sort of education center or community center. For the names we are open to recreate anything innovative.
8. She suggested to show our work to the people of village by taking the classes under the open sky between them. This will encourage them a lot. And will help in repo building of our organization.
9. We need to divide our program into stages such as first is play stage for 6 months, next is the stage for let the children speak and read the language this can be stressed upto 2 year. Since this is most typical task and next will be stage where we teach them to write the language.
10. We need not to stick on the books. We don't have that much bandwidth since a normal schooling program is 12-15 years long program for a single child. We need to make them study using the experience of teachers. Once they start writing then we can take the steps to send them to any professional school and let them study further. Well this is a big task.
11. She also agreed to visit Saharanpur and look at the activities more closely but she is not free at all in the month of March. Also she is very happy if we people go Mumbai and visit their center to learn their method of teaching. Well that will be a 3-4 days long tour and there will be arrangement of our stay there in Mumbai.
12. She has suggested us to meet one of the play school principal in Delhi. We will talk to her tommorrow regarding the meeting.
Today again 64 children. we make paper boat and bird. today children also make drawing on black board and we give them prizes too to those kids who won musical chair. Today Nitin, lalit, satendra also participate in class
65 children were present Todays activities were frog jump race, riddles( they called riddles "EK SAWAAL". They learn making of bird by paper and mouse by hankey. Today we also told them name of days and few poems by action to small kids
Todays presence is 74. Children are increasing, It means they are enjoying class. Today we call a photographer and click photographs of all children. Soon we will issue I Cards to all children. Today Mr Jai Prakash Sharma taught them some yoga tips. One child showed his dance and small children run to save his grape to fall. They again to lot of masti today.
भारत सरकार की योजनाओं को कैसे पलीता लगाया जा रहा है और कैसे साक्षर हम लोग बना रहे हैं इसकी एक मिसाल आज देखने को मिली | एक बच्चा जो सरकारी स्कूल में तीन साल तक गया आज क्लास में आया हमने कहा पढ़ना आता है तो कहने लगा नहीं आता बस अ आ आता है और अंग्रेजी वर्णमाला भी और उसने हमे सुना दी | जब उस से पढवाने की कोशिश की गयी तो उसे पढ़ना आता ही नहीं था उसने कहा हमे मैडम बैठा कर बस ये बुलवाती रहती थी इसलिए हमे याद है ये सब | मैंने उसे अंग्रेजी का चार्ट दिखाया जिसमे पतंग बनी थी उसने उसे देख कर कहा ये पता है प से पतंग जबकि उस चार्ट में लिखा था के से काएट | ये भ्रष्टता की सीमाहीन दुनिया का एक उदाहरण मात्र है | इस आंकडो से सरकार भारत की जनता की साक्षरता के दावे कर रहे हैं | शायद जरुरत इस बात की है की हम स्वयं को भी चेक करे की कहीं हम भी भागीदार तो नहीं है ऐसे ही किसी प्रयास में | क्या हम भी बिजली चोरी तो नहीं कर रहे हैं, क्या हम भी पैसे बनाने को कोई मिलावटी सामान तो नहीं बेच रहे, या हम भी किसी स्कूल में बच्चो को शिक्षा के स्थान पर उनके भविष्य से तो खिलवाड़ नही कर रहे हैं| हालात चिंताजनक नहीं मरणासन्न हैं | देश और समाज को संभालो दोस्तों कहीं जीना दूभर न हो जाए |
Today suddenly four kids of class met me in the morning they were picking scrap. As I called them they left their sack. So I told them, "Do your work, kaam koi kharaab nahi hota you are much better from those who are begger." There two more kids sais that they would also join the class now. One thing I came to know that - wo ye nahin kahte ki hum kooda lene ja rahe hain... wo kahte hain ki hum maal lene ja rahe hain..
When they were coloring they were feeling different joy. we gave colour books to those who are coming daily. So other too will come daily but perhaps we need some cut point. because daily students are increasing. two girls said that no one teach them like this
Today there are 96 children. space is very less and kids are increasing. One teacher was on leave. we were four persons there jai prakash ji, me and satendra and one madam. I told them how to make doll with toffe raper, told a story and one child play role of a dog. but in the end their was so much chaos. feeling anxiety first time in this project tempreture is rising which will creat another problem as we are on roof
Today first time we have distributed hindi books to those students who are coming daily. Boys are very civilised now but girls are very disturbing. From tomorrow we will appoint one more teacher for the class. students are continue increasing and today 6 more new students were in the class. Today i again told a story and few students played the role of animals. They also did some drwing work
Today we forwarded one step towards the controling of class. We are now preparing to teach 75 children in our first class. Three teachers will teach 75 children means 25 per teacher. We have prepared three groups too. One attendence register has been prepared for boys who are regular. Tomoroow we will prepare one more register for regular girls. and one attendence register for small boys and girls. we have choosen four girls from those kids who will help us in attendence and in other activities. Touch One Life today told me that very soon they will visit saharanpur and in two or three days they will send us some books too. Today i told them a story of sheikhchilli and they played a game also.
Today we have divided all the children in three groups , we have now three attendence registers.. we still not get third teacher but may be soon we will get. Today we gave english books too to boys as their class is very regular and civilised. Today we spent much time in making registers and we also told them two stories today.
Today we feel the class very systemetic. But we are feeling shortage of volunteers as no one want to come in that area. Some have fear of their image, some dont want to mix with them, some have political fear. This is really strange that no one is coming there. It seems crazygreen doesnt have any volunteer.
Today New Era Academy Gave us almost 100 books for project Udaan. very good and expensive brand new books which we can use for many purposes. Now class is very systemetic almost all regular students are coming although daily new students are also joining us. Today there are 116 students but we refuse them for tomorrow. Today that place was very hot and also one class is facing problem of sun. We soon need some thing to shade and atleast three fans. we started very small sessions to know alfa bets. Today We told them story of HOLI and small children run their train. आज छोटे बच्चो ने अपनी रेलगाड़ी चलाई, वो रेलगाड़ी रेलगाड़ी कहते हुए दौड रहे थे जब मैं कहता स्टेशन आ गया वो रुक जाते, फिर मैं कहता चलो अब सब बच्चे पकोड़ी खायेंगे तो वो झूठ झूठ पकोड़ी खाने लगते फिर मैं कहता चलो तब चलने लगते फिर रुकते चाय पीते फिर दौड़ने लगते, फिर रुकते तो अखबार पढते अपने सामने हाथ कर कर | आज छोटे बच्चो ने खूब मजा किया
today was again a diffrent day at Udaan. Children played HOLI. they were so happy that i cant write that happiness in words. Satendra is helping a lot to us. He is atleast 3-4 days join the classes and work just like crazy there. He loves them so enjoy there. Today we also meet with a group PRATHAM, they are working for primary education. they gave us many CD's which can help us for primary education. they also inform us how we can get books by government for these children. people from different gropus are continuous contacting us. God is with us
After Holi.. children are less than 70. We tell them about tree, leaves, fruits, seeds, stem, roots and their work. sunshine is creating problem.. we soon need shed
Today one local grp visited us and gave slate, pencil, chalk and copy to all students. The quality of slate is very poor. Next time we will take care about the qualityof things if someone want to give us. today we started to tell about human limbs. they dont know eyebrow in hindi, all said eyebrow.. ha ha ha we also told them if their mothers want to study tell us.
oh today so many new kids continuous creat problem and request to give them chance. Today many children show that they can write many characters after seeing them. This is good for us too. We make group of girls so they can help each other. now we are telling them many things about nature and routine things. those who said they know reading or writing cant read complete words or write. Today when we check their writing skill 70% girls write initial alphabets after seeing on blackboard. and 20% can write some character without the help of board. but no one knows reading or writing words. Both teachers informed that they will not come tomorrow but we have already informed them that they both cant take leave together. everyday new challenge
May be soon some illitrate mothers too join us in one hour session at 3 to 4.
Yesterday we met with a new challenge. Two girls and one boy never laughed and felt uneasy everytime. Today i asked why they dint laugh or talk to anyone. One girl said that these are from different cast so no one talk to them. This was really shocking for me but i asked them from which cast i belonged. I am not from your cast but working for all of you. so now everyone talk with them. Daily more than 90 children are attending class.
Ashray foundation visited udaan on 26th march and promise us to funding us at our every need and now Goonj visited us on 1st April. Soon we will work as a partner of goonj in saharanpur area and participate in their schemes to uplift the society.Thanks to all who are supporting us. Many groups from diffrent parts of india are contacting us to know the initiative and our working in a slum area. Most important we are not giving them anything and still daily new children are coming to join the school. Congrtas and thanks to all volunteers who are regular visiting the class.
Now we have recruited one more teacher at Udaan. Our children are learning now. This is a feeling of great satisfection. Today class have 103 kids this is our achievment.
Today we distributed clothes to almost all kids of Udaan. Goonj sent us almost 300 pieces of good condition cloths. Today we have distributed almost two three dresses to them. children were happy as we distribute clothes as per their size. it took almost three hours and ten members were present there. Only three girls who wear suits didnt get dress as we have not suits.
We are working hard to maintain the strength of students as no one wants to read/write. They are coming because our classess are interesting continuous. we told stories to the children. we play with them, we distribute toffees and very small things to them. we teach them as our own kids. today all kids will get one icecream. soon new kids will join us.
कल फिर से एक अजीब बात हुई |ये एक ऐसा प्रोजेक्ट है जिसमे हर दिन कुछ नया है | कुछ लडकियां दो तीन दिन से नहीं आ रही थी | मैंने आज दुसरे बच्चो से पूछा की वो क्यूँ नहीं आ रही हैं तो किसी ने बताया की वो उनके घर वालो ने मना कर दिया की वो बड़ी हो गयी हैं और अब जाने की जरूरत नहीं | एक ने ये कहा की मैं उन लड़कियों की ज्यादा सुनता हूँ जो पहले से ही स्कूल में पढ़ती हैं मतलब जो पढाने में हमारी मदद करती हैं इसलिए अब से ५ लडकियां नहीं आएँगी आगे से | तब मैंने उनके घर जाने का प्लान किया और एक बच्चे के साथ उनके घर चला गया | वहाँ उनके परेंट्स से बात की उनको समझाया की हम तो बच्चो की तरह पढाते हैं अब इनको कुछ ही दिनों में पढ़ना आ जायेगा फिर कहाँ ऐसा मौका मिलेगा तो वो कहने लगे नहीं ऐसी कोई बात नहीं बस यही नहीं आ रही थी कल से हम जबरदस्ती भेजेंगे इनको | दो और लडकियां जो दूसरे घर में रहती थी उनको भी वही बुलाया उन्होंने कहा की वो इसलिए नहीं आती क्यूंकि उनका मन नहीं लगता इसलिए क्यूंकि पढ़ने में मजा नहीं है और वो बोर हो जाती हैं इसलिए हम नहीं आयेंगे आगे से | फिर उन्हे समझाया की नयी बुक्स मिलेंगी परसों को, पेंसिल बॉक्स मिलेगा और हम जल्दी ही नयी चीज़े करने वाले हैं डांस सीखाया करेंगे वगैरह वगैरह | तब जाकर उन्होंने भी कहा ठीक है कल से आयेंगे | हालत कितनी खराब हो गयी है देश की, एक बच्चे ने मुझे कहा की आप हमे इसलिए पढ़ा रहे होंगे की आपका खूब नाम हो जाएगा और बस उसके बाद आप यहां से गायब हो जाओगे | मैंने पूछा क्यूँ किसी ने कहा क्या ऐसा या तुम्हे कभी लगा ऐसा की मैं इसलिए पढाता हूँ | कहने लगी नहीं लगा तो नहीं लेकिन उसके घर में कल कुछ लोग कह रहे थे की जब तक पढाता है तब तक पढ़ लो उसके बाद नाम होते ही भाग ही जाएगा ये | मैंने कहा नाम तो मेरा अभी भी बहुत है अब उस से मैं क्या बात करता इस बारे में | अभी हमने एक लड़की को वहाँ से निकाल दिया था क्यूंकि वो वहाँ अपना बसता रखकर गायब हो जाती थी और फिर क्लास खतम होने पर वापिस आती थी कल उसकी मम्मी आई उन्होंने पूछा की आज के बाद ये गायब हुई तो इसको डंडे से मारना और खाल उतार देना इसकी | इसको मैंने बहुत मारा कल और अब ये गायब नहीं होगी | बड़ा दुःख हुआ की हमारे कारन उस बच्चे की पिटाई हुई लेकिन ऐसे में समझ नहीं आता की क्या करे और क्या न करे |
Today again new problem.. today all girls who were not coming from last few days join the class but one of the girl creat so much trouble, noise, shouting and querrel. when teachers tried to stop and said get out from the class. she said " मुझे तो घर से बुला के लाये हो अब निकाल कैसे सकते हो " हर रोज एक नयी जंग है , टीचर कहने लगी सर इसको निकालो ये तो दिमाग खराब कर देगी हम सबका | एक टीचर इंग्लिश वर्ड काफी गलत लिखती है उसका भी देखना पड़ेगा क्यूंकि वो वैसे बड़ा ध्यान रखती है हर चीज़ का | कल से नए बच्चे आ रहे हैं और डांस का भी देखना है कैसे कर पायेंगे बच्चे |
२५ मई को हमने क्लास की छुट्टी नहीं की और उन बच्चो को रोके रखा जो बच्चे हमने अगली क्लास में प्रोमोट कर दिए थे | उन सभी बच्चो को तीन किताबे, एक कॉपी, पेंसिल बॉक्स, रबड़, पेंसिल, क़तर और रंग की डिब्बी दी | बच्चे बहुत खुश थे सारा नया सामान देखकर| एक टीचर जो कभी मुझे पढाती थी ने भी आज हमारी क्लास के बच्चो को पढाया और उन्हें अपना आशीर्वाद दिया |
Today i went to school taking a globe with me. Not a single child ever saw that before. Some children said this is a ball, then I told them about globe. I asked them, "Have you ever seen toy car or toy aeroplene ? Like those toy things this is toy earth. " As we see sun from earth, it looks round to us. Similarly, if we are on moon, earth will look round to us. Then I told them about India and USA. I told them how earth moves on its axis. With the help of a torch, I showed them how days and night happen. Also told them how when it is day in india, usa has night that time. I asked them about eclipse. They knew only that people donate on that day. I showed them how solar and lunar eclipse happen with the help of torch and by a play. Three children played role of sun moon and earth.
Sharp dropout in new students strength as i am unable to take care all alone. teachers are not able to entertain kids and i cant control all old and new kids alone. We need a person who can creat fun there. two days we have almost 65 new kids but now only 35-40 new kids are coming regular. Space and excess heat is the problem under a tin shade.
Now a days so many kids have fever and loose motions so i asked what they eat and how much they get for pocket money. This was really shocking for me that some kids get more than 20 rs as their pocket money. This money they get after selling their collected garbage. They daily eat chaumin, chaat, pieces of water melon. I have strictkly said that now they will not eat open water melon. Look what will happen

आज के अनुभव के बाद, मेरे मन में भी बहुत सारे कार्यक्रम आ रहे हैं जो इन बच्चों को कराये जा सकते हैं और उनके लिये बहुत मनोरंजक और उपयोगी सिद्ध होंगे । पर मेरे साथ समस्या सिर्फ यह है कि मैं शनिवार और रविवार व अन्य छुट्टी के दिन ही उड़ान पर पहुंच सकता हूं। चलो, जितना भी समय दिया जा सके, अच्छा है। इन बच्चों के लिये कुछ अच्छा करके मन को बड़ा सुकून मिलेगा।

Today again 64 children. we make paper boat and bird. today children also make drawing on black board and we give them prizes too to those kids who won musical chair. Today Nitin, lalit, satendra also participate in class

ReplyDeleteTodays activities were frog jump race, riddles( they called riddles "EK SAWAAL". They learn making of bird by paper and mouse by hankey. Today we also told them name of days and few poems by action to small kids
Todays presence is 74. Children are increasing, It means they are enjoying class. Today we call a photographer and click photographs of all children. Soon we will issue I Cards to all children. Today Mr Jai Prakash Sharma taught them some yoga tips. One child showed his dance and small children run to save his grape to fall. They again to lot of masti today.
ReplyDeleteभारत सरकार की योजनाओं को कैसे पलीता लगाया जा रहा है और कैसे साक्षर हम लोग बना रहे हैं इसकी एक मिसाल आज देखने को मिली | एक बच्चा जो सरकारी स्कूल में तीन साल तक गया आज क्लास में आया हमने कहा पढ़ना आता है तो कहने लगा नहीं आता बस अ आ आता है और अंग्रेजी वर्णमाला भी और उसने हमे सुना दी | जब उस से पढवाने की कोशिश की गयी तो उसे पढ़ना आता ही नहीं था उसने कहा हमे मैडम बैठा कर बस ये बुलवाती रहती थी इसलिए हमे याद है ये सब | मैंने उसे अंग्रेजी का चार्ट दिखाया जिसमे पतंग बनी थी उसने उसे देख कर कहा ये पता है प से पतंग जबकि उस चार्ट में लिखा था के से काएट | ये भ्रष्टता की सीमाहीन दुनिया का एक उदाहरण मात्र है | इस आंकडो से सरकार भारत की जनता की साक्षरता के दावे कर रहे हैं | शायद जरुरत इस बात की है की हम स्वयं को भी चेक करे की कहीं हम भी भागीदार तो नहीं है ऐसे ही किसी प्रयास में | क्या हम भी बिजली चोरी तो नहीं कर रहे हैं, क्या हम भी पैसे बनाने को कोई मिलावटी सामान तो नहीं बेच रहे, या हम भी किसी स्कूल में बच्चो को शिक्षा के स्थान पर उनके भविष्य से तो खिलवाड़ नही कर रहे हैं| हालात चिंताजनक नहीं मरणासन्न हैं | देश और समाज को संभालो दोस्तों कहीं जीना दूभर न हो जाए |

ReplyDeleteAs I called them they left their sack. So I told them, "Do your work, kaam koi kharaab nahi hota
you are much better from those who are begger."
There two more kids sais that they would also join the class now.
One thing I came to know that - wo ye nahin kahte ki hum kooda lene ja rahe hain... wo kahte hain ki hum maal lene ja rahe hain..
Todays 80 children were in the class. Almost all kids came with brushed teeth. Today we gave them drawing books and they filled colours in them.
ReplyDeleteWhen they were coloring they were feeling different joy. we gave colour books to those who are coming daily. So other too will come daily but perhaps we need some cut point. because daily students are increasing.

Today there are 96 children. space is very less and kids are increasing. One teacher was on leave. we were four persons there jai prakash ji, me and satendra and one madam. I told them how to make doll with toffe raper, told a story and one child play role of a dog.

Today first time we have distributed hindi books to those students who are coming daily.
ReplyDeleteBoys are very civilised now but girls are very disturbing. From tomorrow we will appoint one more teacher for the class. students are continue increasing and today 6 more new students were in the class.
Today i again told a story and few students played the role of animals. They also did some drwing work
Today we forwarded one step towards the controling of class. We are now preparing to teach 75 children in our first class. Three teachers will teach 75 children means 25 per teacher. We have prepared three groups too. One attendence register has been prepared for boys who are regular. Tomoroow we will prepare one more register for regular girls. and one attendence register for small boys and girls.
ReplyDeletewe have choosen four girls from those kids who will help us in attendence and in other activities. Touch One Life today told me that very soon they will visit saharanpur and in two or three days they will send us some books too.
Today i told them a story of sheikhchilli and they played a game also.
Today we have divided all the children in three groups , we have now three attendence registers.. we still not get third teacher but may be soon we will get. Today we gave english books too to boys as their class is very regular and civilised. Today we spent much time in making registers and we also told them two stories today.
ReplyDeleteToday we feel the class very systemetic. But we are feeling shortage of volunteers as no one want to come in that area. Some have fear of their image, some dont want to mix with them, some have political fear. This is really strange that no one is coming there. It seems crazygreen doesnt have any volunteer.
ReplyDeleteToday New Era Academy Gave us almost 100 books for project Udaan. very good and expensive brand new books which we can use for many purposes. Now class is very systemetic almost all regular students are coming although daily new students are also joining us. Today there are 116 students but we refuse them for tomorrow. Today that place was very hot and also one class is facing problem of sun. We soon need some thing to shade and atleast three fans. we started very small sessions to know alfa bets. Today We told them story of HOLI and small children run their train.
ReplyDeleteआज छोटे बच्चो ने अपनी रेलगाड़ी चलाई, वो रेलगाड़ी रेलगाड़ी कहते हुए दौड रहे थे जब मैं कहता स्टेशन आ गया वो रुक जाते, फिर मैं कहता चलो अब सब बच्चे पकोड़ी खायेंगे तो वो झूठ झूठ पकोड़ी खाने लगते फिर मैं कहता चलो तब चलने लगते फिर रुकते चाय पीते फिर दौड़ने लगते, फिर रुकते तो अखबार पढते अपने सामने हाथ कर कर | आज छोटे बच्चो ने खूब मजा किया
today a bank union order 120 slates and workbooks for us. Diffrent groups are joining us and helping us after seeing our work.

ReplyDeleteChildren played HOLI. they were so happy that i cant write that happiness in words. Satendra is helping a lot to us. He is atleast 3-4 days join the classes and work just like crazy there. He loves them so enjoy there.
Today we also meet with a group PRATHAM, they are working for primary education. they gave us many CD's which can help us for primary education. they also inform us how we can get books by government for these children.

After Holi.. children are less than 70. We tell them about tree, leaves, fruits, seeds, stem, roots and their work. sunshine is creating problem.. we soon need shed
ReplyDeleteToday one local grp visited us and gave slate, pencil, chalk and copy to all students. The quality of slate is very poor. Next time we will take care about the qualityof things if someone want to give us. today we started to tell about human limbs. they dont know eyebrow in hindi, all said eyebrow.. ha ha ha

oh today so many new kids continuous creat problem and request to give them chance. Today many children show that they can write many characters after seeing them. This is good for us too. We make group of girls so they can help each other. now we are telling them many things about nature and routine things. those who said they know reading or writing cant read complete words or write. Today when we check their writing skill 70% girls write initial alphabets after seeing on blackboard. and 20% can write some character without the help of board. but no one knows reading or writing words.

May be soon some illitrate mothers too join us in one hour session at 3 to 4.
Yesterday we met with a new challenge. Two girls and one boy never laughed and felt uneasy everytime. Today i asked why they dint laugh or talk to anyone. One girl said that these are from different cast so no one talk to them. This was really shocking for me but i asked them from which cast i belonged. I am not from your cast but working for all of you. so now everyone talk with them.

Ashray foundation visited udaan on 26th march and promise us to funding us at our every need and now Goonj visited us on 1st April. Soon we will work as a partner of goonj in saharanpur area and participate in their schemes to uplift the society.Thanks to all who are supporting us. Many groups from diffrent parts of india are contacting us to know the initiative and our working in a slum area. Most important we are not giving them anything and still daily new children are coming to join the school. Congrtas and thanks to all volunteers who are regular visiting the class.

ReplyDeleteOur children are learning now. This is a feeling of great satisfection. Today class have 103 kids this is our achievment.
Today we distributed clothes to almost all kids of Udaan. Goonj sent us almost 300 pieces of good condition cloths. Today we have distributed almost two three dresses to them. children were happy as we distribute clothes as per their size. it took almost three hours and ten members were present there. Only three girls who wear suits didnt get dress as we have not suits.

We are working hard to maintain the strength of students as no one wants to read/write. They are coming because our classess are interesting continuous. we told stories to the children. we play with them, we distribute toffees and very small things to them. we teach them as our own kids. today all kids will get one icecream. soon new kids will join us.
ReplyDeleteकल फिर से एक अजीब बात हुई |ये एक ऐसा प्रोजेक्ट है जिसमे हर दिन कुछ नया है | कुछ लडकियां दो तीन दिन से नहीं आ रही थी | मैंने आज दुसरे बच्चो से पूछा की वो क्यूँ नहीं आ रही हैं तो किसी ने बताया की वो उनके घर वालो ने मना कर दिया की वो बड़ी हो गयी हैं और अब जाने की जरूरत नहीं | एक ने ये कहा की मैं उन लड़कियों की ज्यादा सुनता हूँ जो पहले से ही स्कूल में पढ़ती हैं मतलब जो पढाने में हमारी मदद करती हैं इसलिए अब से ५ लडकियां नहीं आएँगी आगे से | तब मैंने उनके घर जाने का प्लान किया और एक बच्चे के साथ उनके घर चला गया | वहाँ उनके परेंट्स से बात की उनको समझाया की हम तो बच्चो की तरह पढाते हैं अब इनको कुछ ही दिनों में पढ़ना आ जायेगा फिर कहाँ ऐसा मौका मिलेगा तो वो कहने लगे नहीं ऐसी कोई बात नहीं बस यही नहीं आ रही थी कल से हम जबरदस्ती भेजेंगे इनको | दो और लडकियां जो दूसरे घर में रहती थी उनको भी वही बुलाया उन्होंने कहा की वो इसलिए नहीं आती क्यूंकि उनका मन नहीं लगता इसलिए क्यूंकि पढ़ने में मजा नहीं है और वो बोर हो जाती हैं इसलिए हम नहीं आयेंगे आगे से | फिर उन्हे समझाया की नयी बुक्स मिलेंगी परसों को, पेंसिल बॉक्स मिलेगा और हम जल्दी ही नयी चीज़े करने वाले हैं डांस सीखाया करेंगे वगैरह वगैरह | तब जाकर उन्होंने भी कहा ठीक है कल से आयेंगे | हालत कितनी खराब हो गयी है देश की, एक बच्चे ने मुझे कहा की आप हमे इसलिए पढ़ा रहे होंगे की आपका खूब नाम हो जाएगा और बस उसके बाद आप यहां से गायब हो जाओगे | मैंने पूछा क्यूँ किसी ने कहा क्या ऐसा या तुम्हे कभी लगा ऐसा की मैं इसलिए पढाता हूँ | कहने लगी नहीं लगा तो नहीं लेकिन उसके घर में कल कुछ लोग कह रहे थे की जब तक पढाता है तब तक पढ़ लो उसके बाद नाम होते ही भाग ही जाएगा ये | मैंने कहा नाम तो मेरा अभी भी बहुत है अब उस से मैं क्या बात करता इस बारे में | अभी हमने एक लड़की को वहाँ से निकाल दिया था क्यूंकि वो वहाँ अपना बसता रखकर गायब हो जाती थी और फिर क्लास खतम होने पर वापिस आती थी कल उसकी मम्मी आई उन्होंने पूछा की आज के बाद ये गायब हुई तो इसको डंडे से मारना और खाल उतार देना इसकी | इसको मैंने बहुत मारा कल और अब ये गायब नहीं होगी | बड़ा दुःख हुआ की हमारे कारन उस बच्चे की पिटाई हुई लेकिन ऐसे में समझ नहीं आता की क्या करे और क्या न करे |

ReplyDeleteहर रोज एक नयी जंग है , टीचर कहने लगी सर इसको निकालो ये तो दिमाग खराब कर देगी हम सबका | एक टीचर इंग्लिश वर्ड काफी गलत लिखती है उसका भी देखना पड़ेगा क्यूंकि वो वैसे बड़ा ध्यान रखती है हर चीज़ का | कल से नए बच्चे आ रहे हैं और डांस का भी देखना है कैसे कर पायेंगे बच्चे |
२५ मई को हमने क्लास की छुट्टी नहीं की और उन बच्चो को रोके रखा जो बच्चे हमने अगली क्लास में प्रोमोट कर दिए थे | उन सभी बच्चो को तीन किताबे, एक कॉपी, पेंसिल बॉक्स, रबड़, पेंसिल, क़तर और रंग की डिब्बी दी | बच्चे बहुत खुश थे सारा नया सामान देखकर| एक टीचर जो कभी मुझे पढाती थी ने भी आज हमारी क्लास के बच्चो को पढाया और उन्हें अपना आशीर्वाद दिया |
ReplyDeleteToday i went to school taking a globe with me. Not a single child ever saw that before. Some children said this is a ball, then I told them about globe. I asked them, "Have you ever seen toy car or toy aeroplene ? Like those toy things this is toy earth. "
ReplyDeleteAs we see sun from earth, it looks round to us. Similarly, if we are on moon, earth will look round to us. Then I told them about India and USA.
I told them how earth moves on its axis. With the help of a torch, I showed them how days and night happen. Also told them how when it is day in india, usa has night that time. I asked them about eclipse. They knew only that people donate on that day. I showed them how solar and lunar eclipse happen with the help of torch and by a play. Three children played role of sun moon and earth.
Sharp dropout in new students strength as i am unable to take care all alone. teachers are not able to entertain kids and i cant control all old and new kids alone. We need a person who can creat fun there. two days we have almost 65 new kids but now only 35-40 new kids are coming regular. Space and excess heat is the problem under a tin shade.
ReplyDeleteNow a days so many kids have fever and loose motions so i asked what they eat and how much they get for pocket money. This was really shocking for me that some kids get more than 20 rs as their pocket money. This money they get after selling their collected garbage. They daily eat chaumin, chaat, pieces of water melon. I have strictkly said that now they will not eat open water melon. Look what will happen

आज के अनुभव के बाद, मेरे मन में भी बहुत सारे कार्यक्रम आ रहे हैं जो इन बच्चों को कराये जा सकते हैं और उनके लिये बहुत मनोरंजक और उपयोगी सिद्ध होंगे । पर मेरे साथ समस्या सिर्फ यह है कि मैं शनिवार और रविवार व अन्य छुट्टी के दिन ही उड़ान पर पहुंच सकता हूं। चलो, जितना भी समय दिया जा सके, अच्छा है। इन बच्चों के लिये कुछ अच्छा करके मन को बड़ा सुकून मिलेगा।
